  1. Makes me recall reading 'Tales of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle' and that goes back nearly thirty years ago… it was one of my son's favorites. You seem to have regular visits. Great shots as usual. 😉

  2. WOW – your photos are absolutely amazing! Love the hedgehog. The picture of drumstick alliums is so beautiful!

  3. Hi Shirl,

Great photos, it must be so great to see Hedgehogs so clearly in your garden. Just wondering, how far away were you from the hedgehog when you took those photos?

  4. Hodgieheg!!

A bit worried that it's out during the day though, however it's certainly filling up on food! 😀

  5. Lovely Hog-pig picture! Does it have a name. My friend has one in his garden and has called it Spike!

  6. First thought – OMG, Shirley had a hedgehog for lunch!
    That's the trouble with wordlessness…

  7. Really lovely photos of your visiting hog Shirl. Are you using a special Hedgehog food mix? I am trying some out though I am adding extra dried mealworms as they are used to them here and they usually get scoffed first!

  8. What great photos of our nocturnal friends. I hope it wasn't under duress since it was out during the day to feed.

  9. Nibble, nibble, nibble, burp, beg pardon, nibble, nibble, nibble, scrunch.

Today there's Bliss on the menu if you're peckish.

  10. Hi there Carol, PHM, TexasRed, Joe, Mike, Liz and Jane:-)

Carol – Wonderful! I’m not really sure how regular our visits are at the moment. It's great to see a young hog back again. Thank-you, wishing you a good weekend 😀

PHM – Thanks! I enjoyed your WW pic too. The hog is such a delight to see as are the alliums. Thanks, I liked that shot too. Wishing you a good weekend 😀

TexasRed – He/she is! Thanks, close-up was easy… it walked right past my feet! Wishing you a good weekend 😀

Joe – Thanks, it is although we don’t catch glimpses as often at the moment. I was very close to this hedgehog… less than a metre… I stood still as it walked right under my tripod! Great to see you posting again, a great selection of photos… hope to pop by over the weekend… wishing you a good one 😀

    Mike – Thank-you! Wishing you a good weekend 😀

Liz – It was… it was! I might have been worried about seeing this little one out had I not had a previous encounter with it or another a little while back. It was walking fine and knew its way about so I wasn’t worried. Wishing you a good weekend 😀

Jane – Thank-you! No, I know many name hogs and other wildlife visitors but I don’t tend too. Occasionally my daughters will. Wishing you a good weekend 😀

  11. Hi there Scattered, John, Lisa, Patsi, Yolanda and GL 🙂

Scattered – LOL… to be honest I hoped someone would have a laugh at that! That’s the beauty of wordlessness… wishing you a good weekend 😀

John – thank-you, I was pleased with them. No, I tried the mixes but the hogs just left it so I stuck with the tried and tested sunflower hearts, peanuts, sultanas and mixed dried fruit. I am certain mealworms would get scoffed first too and occasionally put them out. Haven’t had time to sort my videos yet and a busy birthday weekend ahead. Hope to get them sorted soon. Wishing you a good weekend 😀

Lisa – Thank-you, I was pleased with them. No, it appeared alert, eyes were clear and it walked around without any disorientation so I’d say it was fine. It was fun to follow around the garden. Wishing you a good weekend 😀

Patsi – Yes, they are extremely entertaining garden friends. You’re the first that hasn’t found them cute… but that’s okay. For me they really are such endearing characters and many of the larger ones can look quite handsome 😉 Wishing you a good weekend 😀

Yolanda – Oh my… it’s too late to eat tonight… hope there’s plenty left over during the weekend… wishing you a good one 😉

GL – Thank-you! Oh yes… I do know… I’ve got some fun video to come too. I just don’t have enough time at the moment (says she typing this at 1:41am and about to back time my next posting to compensate!). Wishing you a good weekend 😀
