End of Month View – June 2012

2 July 2012

Being Scottish, it may come as no surprise that I’m a bit of a rain gardener. Truth be told, I actually enjoy gardening in the rain so much more than on a sunny warm day – which honestly we do get too! However, muddy ground in the area of my wildlife pond build is becoming… Read More End of Month View – June 2012

End of month view, Feb 2011

1 March 2011

As promised, it’s time to reveal progress with the new wildlife pond build at the end of the month. However, the last day of February 2011 was a glorious one and my camera was drawn to other areas of the garden first 😉 Front garden: Narcissi ‘Ice Follies’ with sunlight revealing flowers inside. Front garden:… Read More End of month view, Feb 2011

End of month views March 2010

2 April 2010

Is this a late April Fools? Well… yes, in a way it is! Oh yes, the return of snow was real earlier in the week. In reality, it did add to this posting for March being late. Oh yes… that and the April Fool that would be me! Then the joke was on me late… Read More End of month views March 2010

End of month views, February 2010

28 February 2010

Earlier today, I posted with photos of a female Sparrowhawk that was visiting my garden this morning. I guess she makes an entry into February’s ‘end of the month garden view’. Interestingly, this posting has indirectly kicked up another couple of things.Suspecting I’m not the only blogger that has had the following problem, I wonder… Read More End of month views, February 2010

GARDENWATCH

I’d encourage everyone to gardenwatch, now more than ever. You just never know what you might see when you look more closely. I’d guess you’d be in for quite a few surprises, just as I have. A good start is a dish of fresh water for thirsty hedgehogs and birds and any kind of bird feeder. A warning here – one will lead to another. Our gardens really can be mini nature reserves which is great for us to enjoy and seriously helps struggling wildlife.

There are three favourite locations to gardenwatch in my garden, all at different times of the day. Breakfast, through a window with a notebook recording activity at the feeders. Lunchtime, on a bench by the pond watching what is attracted there – lots. Late evening is the last, live watching night garden activity through four IR cameras – addictive!
